Henrico’s J.E.B. Stuart monument
March 14, 2007 8:46 PM

J.E.B. Stuart monument in HenricoMany of you have already seen and read about this monument and historic site of The Battle of Yellow Tavern in a recent ”WHAT’S THIS?” that we posted. That article has proven to be the second most popular article in March on the DiscoverRichmond.com website, behind only Richmond Quiz #6. That is surpising, as I didn’t think that many people would A) know is existed; and B) really care that much. Thanks for checking it out, and I hope you learned something.

As for the site, it was interesting for me to learn about Telegraph Road, the actual road where the monument is located. The building of Route 1 and later I-295 have reduced this section of the road to just a simple narrow neighborhood street, but at one time this was one of the main routes to Washington from Richmond. So much history, so little time to learn it all.
