The Henrico County Board of Supervisors meets Tuesday night to discuss scrapping the vehicle decals.  If it goes through (as expected), what do you plan to do with your vehicle decal?

What a joke.  If we have to be pulled over for an obstruction of view if we have an air freshner the size of a shoelace, then these stickers are allowed? Are you kidding me?  Check the guidelines before running the printing press! I’m glad the stickers are gone and it’s about time Henrico joined in with the other surrounding counties who did away with their stickers a long time ago.  I agree with Gene’s comment, or perhaps we should all mail ours back, so they have to open them…

So what’t the big deal about the new stickers anyway.  I put them on all three of my vehicles ranging from a Ford F-150 Pickup to my son’s very small Mitsubishi Mirage.  Its not in the way if installed correctly.  Yes, its a little large but not that much bigger than the state inspection sticker and I don’t hear anyone complaining about that.  I was looking forward to not having to worry about a new one each year.  I don’t think the county did anything wrong.  In fact, I think it was an honest attempt to save money by not having to relace them every year with a new color.  I guess some people just like to complain no matter what. Henrico County, you did well, no matter what anyone says.

I am planning on putting it on the SUPERSIZE trash-can the county delivered which I think is another waste of funds, since I yet to see the new county trucks that will be used to lift these huge things…maybe another news story!

I plan to frame my decal in a fancy gold frame, with the inscription, “Do Your Homework,“ and donate it to the County of Henrico to hang in the hallowed halls of the Department of Finance.

What a waste of my tax money.  Just another example of Henrico’s arrogance, “my sticker is bigger than yours!“  I guess they were trying to create sticker envy.  Hope it was worth 300,000.  They could have given every full time employee about an extra $1,000 in salary.  At least the ones who don’t make boneheaded decisions.

I plan to leave mine in place. It doesn’t bother me at all. I have talked to several friends of mine who say that they find the size distracting, though, so I can understand how some people would not like it.

It will be most interesting to see what plan the County comes up with in order to make sure personal-property tax on vehicles are paid.

I’ll admit, the first time I got my decal in the mail, I almost fell over. They are huge. Since the police have computers in their cars now anyway, the decals should be obsolete. They might have wasted money this year, but they will say money in the long run by their removal. I say good riddance. Getting those things off my windshield was a pain every year.

I will use the old decal as a guide and
cut a 3 inch circle of the new one I will
then place it upside down on my windshield.

What a waste of money…. Would someone also look into how much the COUNTY SPENT ON THE COUNTY SEAL IN FRONT OF THE GOVERMENT CENTER????

Why did they do this???

As I just bought my car, I will remove the old stick and not bother to put the new sticker on it.  Personally I am glad the stickers are being removed.  I never really saw a point behind them.  Yes, they identify owners that have not paid their taxes, but there are other ways to assure that the taxes are paid.  Personally I have always felt that tax should be part of the fees for your license plate.  That has to be renewed every year or two anyway.  If it is the same amount of money being paid, why not allow residents to pay it al at the same time with one check.
